  According to the monitoring of the water conservancy department, over 158 rivers in 16 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) have experienced over-alarm floods in the past week, 32 rivers have exceeded floods, 2 small and medium-sized rivers have exceeded historical floods, and Taihu Lake and the Yangtze River have occurred in 2020.   Since the beginning of this year, the overall drought situation in the country has been relatively light. Drought disasters mainly occurred in Yunnan, Sichuan, Shanxi and other places. A total of 11.87 million people were affected. The crop area was 20.53 million hectares, and the total loss was 10.1 million hectares. The direct economic loss was 6.7 billion yuan. Compared with the average of the same period in the past five years, the number of people affected by disasters, the number of people in need of assistance due to drought, the area affected by crops and the direct economic loss decreased by 48%, 51%, 58% and 68%, respectively.

  Over the past week, the National Defense General Administration and Emergency Management Department have made arrangements for key tasks in response to floods and disasters in various places.
