Foreign Ministry does not rule out US rejection of moratorium on nuclear tests

This is stated in a message published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“The impression is that Washington is preparing the world community to abandon the still existing voluntary moratorium on nuclear testing in the United States and, as a result, to completely destroy the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty,” the Foreign Ministry said.

At the same time, the ministry emphasized that the Russian side continues to strictly adhere to the declared moratorium on nuclear tests and to comply with the provisions of the CTBT regarding the prohibition of tests.

Earlier, US President’s Special Envoy Marshall Billingsley said the US authorities saw no reason to resume nuclear testing.
