His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, discussed, during a telephone conversation with French Foreign Minister John Yves Le Drian, the strategic relations between the UAE and France and ways to enhance aspects of joint cooperation in all fields.
The phone call also discussed developments in the region and a number of regional and international issues of common concern, including Syria and Libya, and ways to enhance security in the eastern Mediterranean region.
The two sides affirmed support for efforts to reach a political solution to the Libyan crisis, which is the only solution to achieve security and stability in Libya and to preserve the unity and integrity of its lands.
They also affirmed their support for the Egyptian initiative to end the Libyan crisis and rejected Turkish interference in the Libyan issue that would prejudice the efforts of the international community to reach a political solution to the crisis.
His Highness and the French Minister of Foreign Affairs reviewed the developments of the emerging Corona virus "Covid 19" and the efforts of the two friendly countries to deal with its repercussions.
