A total of 1,669 people participated in the survey initiated by the Nordic countries' Border Bar Council. The survey shows that 38, 4 percent of respondents felt that it was very much a problem that the different countries had different restrictions.

What caused the residents of the border regions the biggest headache is precisely the different restrictions, 82.5 percent of respondents say.

Particular to families

But the fact that restrictions placed on families are a big concern is the study. As many as 67 percent of respondents state that the difficulty in meeting family members has caused them great trouble.

- I can't meet my closest, my dearest. Since we have chosen not to marry, the authorities in Norway believe that our relationship is not serious enough for my loved one to come to Norway, writes one of the respondents in a comment on the investigation.

In the survey, 68 percent of respondents also state that the border regional information causes concern.
