According to Peskov, Putin noted that after the USSR ceased to exist, very little time passed in the historical context. He added that this is “very little time for the full restoration, strengthening and cementing of the foundations of any state”, including Russia.

“That's why many legal foundations, regulatory practices, and so on and so forth, are on a tight track,” the Kremlin explained.

Peskov noted that the process of improvement, the cementing process, necessary for the full and irreversible strengthening of the state, is ongoing.

According to him, a very important, significant step in this direction was the process of amending the Constitution.

He answered the journalist’s question whether there would be enough time for Vladimir Putin to “strengthen stability” in Russia.

“You know that Vladimir Putin is constantly working on this, in fact, one of the priorities of his work,” the presidential spokesman said.

Peskov also recalled that 20 years ago the Russian state "was on the verge of collapse" and its state "left much to be desired."

Earlier, Putin commented on the results of the vote on constitutional amendments.
