Nyköping wants to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 16 percent per year

The new carbon budget has been ordered from Uppsala University and in practice means that emissions within the municipality's boundaries must be reduced by 16 per cent per year starting in 2020, in order for the budget to meet.

“The budget clearly shows that transport of both people and goods needs to be reduced. For the Municipality of Nyköping, the four transport sectors are passenger cars, other domestic transport, international aviation and international shipping account for about 85 percent of the municipality's carbon dioxide emissions. ”, The municipality writes in a press release.
