The goal at Västmanland District Court is unique. The recruitment law has only been used on a few occasions before, and the section on self-education - as it is the case in this case - has never been tried before.

The crime became a criminal offense in September 2018 and is about educating oneself with the aim of committing particularly serious crime.

- It is about being able to judge for a planned act at an earlier stage than preparation for a crime, explained Chamber Prosecutor Henrik Olin during his case.

The films were shown in court

The man who converted to Islam and also changed his name was 19 years old when the national intervention force stormed in with him and the police did the house search.

Over 800 films with IS propaganda, bomb making and execution instructions, publications and homemade films were found via the man's computer and mobile phone. Along with internet history, telegram chats and testimonies from one of the police in the international police force, they formed part of the evidence presented by the prosecutor during the trial.

When a couple of the movies with the roughest content were shown, it was done behind closed doors.

During the trial, the defendant refused to answer the prosecutor's questions, but spoke to both the chairman of the court and his lawyer.

- It was a few years ago. There are cops on different pages on the internet and then you get interested in watching the whole movie. You save them down and don't just remove them. Like I said, it was pure curiosity, he said among other things.
