It is the tenth year in a row that the oyster is set to reinforce the threatened eel species. The fry come from England, but they will soon become Swedish to become Cubans, or West Indies, sometime in the future if they make their way to the Sargasso Sea northeast of Cuba.

- It feels really great to be able to put them out here, says Niclas Åberg, project manager of 8-fjords. You feel that it is useful because it is a threatened species. They are studious and we believe that maybe 20-30 percent will do well.

Launch in several places

The fry released from 8-fjords are part of the Krafttag eel program, which is implemented in collaboration between the hydropower companies and the Marine and Water Authority. During the Thursday afternoon, a hike was also placed at Myggenäs harbor on Tjörn and on Rossö on Orust.
