On Thursday, the Borlänge Municipality Social Committee called for a meeting to go to the bottom with the case of 13-year-old Sofie, which SVT News reviewed.

This is after IVO decided to review the management.

- This case will appear. In addition to following up on it, IVO will also look into it. They can give us opinions and advice in the matter, says Kenneth Persson (S), chairman of the Social Committee.

It's about Sofie, 13, who was suddenly moved from the family home she grew up in to an HVB home.

The social services suspect that a guy in the vicinity of the family home exposed a girl to sexual abuse. Sofie herself says that she has not been subjected to any abuse. The guy has now moved.

Sofie wants to return to her foster parents. "This is a nightmare, " she writes.

But the municipality has no plans to allow her to move back.

- It happens on and off that we relocate from family homes. Then you have to think that this is over. If you can have a good contact then it is good, but now things have happened so that she needs a quiet environment ahead, says Persson.

The investigation is missing facts

SVT News has taken part in the social services investigation. It says that the family home would not be able to protect Sofie if she were subjected to abuse in the future. But in the investigation, on which the Social Committee based its decision, it does not say that the guy has moved.

Nor does it say that Sofie is now traumatized by the move from the family home, something that stands in other documents.

- For my part, it is a major trauma that you may have had inadequate contact with the biological parents, says Persson.

Sophie's biological parents have disabilities and in several instances have been judged unable to care for a child. They also want the case investigated.

However, as SVT News previously told, the social service pressured the parents to revoke the authorization to SVT. Kenneth Persson sees this as a mistake.

- If anyone is to apologize, then it is the administrators. But I can also apologize if they have regarded it as a gross violation.

Footnote: Sofie is in fact something else.
