In the face of unprecedented challenges, foremost of which is the Renaissance Dam Dam, voices counted on the January Revolution and opponents of the Egyptian regime have come to line up with the regime and support it, given that the water crisis threatens all Egyptians, not only supporters of the regime.

But others believe that the call to line up should start from the regime itself, by affirming its desire to bridge the popular division, national reunification through urgent measures that start with the release of political detainees, and stop the repression of those who oppose authority.

While the owners of the line-up call renew their calls all the time on the communication sites, without a response from the authority, as the abuse of opponents continues, according to human rights reports, opponents of these calls confirm that the system has a defect starting in the order of priority of the dangers, as the danger of the Renaissance Dam - the priority of The owners of the call to line up late to the system, after the danger of armed groups to the east, and the Libyan reconciliation government to the west.

Egypt does not order

The founder of the Bedaya Movement, Sharif Diab, confirms that the issue should not be seen as aligning with a regime, but rather supporting the country in its national stance towards an existential issue, regardless of who leads the country.

In his speech to Al-Jazeera Net, Diab stresses that this does not mean at all a white mandate for the regime, adding, "We must not forget the rest of the issues that are no less serious than the Renaissance Dam issue and related to the fate of the country like the issue of freedoms, but the regime must be asked to release freedoms in parallel with supporting the position Egypt is in the case of the Renaissance Dam, both of which are in Egypt's interest. "

Diab - a former political prisoner in 2016 - pointed out that talking about issues threatening national security is not yielding to the regime's desire to neglect freedom issues and not to be louder than the battle, adding that "the regime does not need, in his opinion, the Battle of the Renaissance Dam, for example, to invoke it to suppress freedoms, He suppresses it anyway, and he also has enough battles to justify the crackdown. "

He pointed out that the issue of the Renaissance Dam is a serious threat to the life of every Egyptian, and not a fabricated issue, so the opposition to the regime in its steps for the sake of the opposition and not supporting Egypt in its position on the issue would lose Egyptians' confidence in the motives of the opposition, while the citizen sees the authority showing a pretense in the pursuit of Egypt's interest .

In his speech to Parliament a few days ago, Representative Ahmed Al-Tantawi, known for his opposition to the authority, expressed his fundamental difference with the way the management of the Renaissance Dam file was managed.

However, the deputy added that he considered himself at this moment a soldier to serve the country wherever he wanted and however he wanted, adding, "If the Egyptian state requests us, we will be at the forefront of the ranks."

With regard to the responsibility of Parliament, the MP repeated what he has been demanding since the beginning of the Council's work that it must play its constitutional role in reviewing the tripartite agreement signed with Ethiopia and Sudan, calling on Parliament to refuse to ratify it.

Betrayal

Immediately after Sisi announced his willingness to push the army to carry out operations in Libya, communication platforms close to the regime or what became known as the electronic battalions flared with calls to line up with him, and the attack on those who demanded prioritization so that interest in the issue of the Renaissance Dam was previously related to the issue of military intervention in Libya, and the publications of these committees considered the claimants By submitting the dam file on the Libyan file "Brothers betrayed", he wants to distract the country from Libya's risks to Egyptian national security.

But these opponents - among them belonging to the January revolution - went on calling to line up further, and demonstrated that they were "not traitors" by offering themselves to serve the regime to contribute to resolving the Renaissance Dam issue.

In this context, the deputy head of the National Front Party, Magdi Hamdan, believes that the call to line up will not find a listening ear from the authority, which can only hear itself.

Speaking to Al-Jazeera Net, Hamdan stressed that the Egyptian opposition inside does not exist at all, and talking about its existence is a deception of the self, so I called on it to line up without value.

As for the opposition abroad - and the talk of Hamdan - it has not succeeded in providing anything over the past years other than denunciation and condemnation, and it has failed to move the world to stop what is happening, and it needs to line up with itself first.

Support for the regime, not Egypt

In turn, the director of the International Institute for Political and Strategic Sciences, Mamdouh Al-Munir, expresses his belief that such calls strengthen the regime and in return do not benefit Egypt in the case of the Renaissance Dam.

Al-Munir pointed out that Al-Sisi signed the Declaration of Principles agreement in 2015 despite the refusal of all state agencies to do so, and he was advised at the time not to sign, but he insisted on signing.

Speaking to Al-Jazeera Net, Al-Mounir explained that "Al-Sisi knows very well what he is doing, and all his moves to stop filling the dam are showy to the media, and it is nothing more than recording positions in front of the people that he is exerting his effort, as if he washes his hand."

He added that "what confirms the absurdity of the calls to line up is the misery of the opposition itself, its inability to line up with itself, and its inability to influence negatively or positively in the course of things."

Al-Munir said that a wide section of the opposition believes that its cooperation with Sisi in the case of the Renaissance Dam, if it was for the benefit of the country, would not hesitate to support him in this file, but she understands with certainty that he is one of "Egypt's deliberate involvement in the crisis, in the service of the goals of those who rely on him to stay in power ".
