China News Service, July 2 (Xinhua)-According to reports from South Korean media, the Korean police concluded a year-long re-investigation of South Korea’s largest long-standing unsolved case-the serial murder of Li Chunzai in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do. This is 34 years after the first case of the serial murder case. The police said that Li Chunzai committed a total of 23 cases, but it is difficult to punish the punishment that has passed the statute of limitations.

  On July 2, 2020, the Investigation Division of the Southern Regional Police Office of Gyeonggi, South Korea published the results of a comprehensive investigation of Li Chunzai’s serial murders. The police said that Li Chunza committed 14 murders and 9 rapes in order to eliminate the desire for abusive and serial crimes, and plans to transfer them to the prosecution.

  The serial murder case of Li Chunzai occurred between 1986 and 1991 and involved 10 cases. The case was also adapted into the movie "Memories of Murder".

  On September 19, 1986, a 71-year-old man strangled and his pants slipped was found in Anning, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province. The 10 cases connected together have no fixed characteristics. Most of the women killed were raped and then killed.

  The first case: On September 15, 1986, 71-year-old Li Mou, naked, was killed.

  The second case: October 20, 1986, 25-year-old Park, naked, body was abandoned by the road, with a knife wound in the chest.

  The third case: On December 12, 1986, at the age of 24, Quanmou, his hands were tied with stockings and his head was covered with underwear.

  The fourth case: On December 14, 1986, 23-year-old Li Mou was tied up in stockings.

  The fifth case: January 10, 1987, 18-year-old Hongmou, tied up by stockings.

  The sixth case: May 2, 1987, 30-year-old Park, after being killed, the body was covered under a pile of pine branches.

  The seventh case: On September 7, 1988, 52-year-old Anmou, with his hands tied in a shirt, was killed.

  The eighth case: On September 16, 1988, 13-year-old Park was killed.

  The ninth case: On November 15, 1990, 13-year-old Jinmou was tied up in stockings and killed.

  The 10th case: On April 3, 1991, 69-year-old Quanmou, with naked lower body, was killed.

  Among them, the eighth case was slightly different from several other cases, and was found to be a crime of imitation. South Korean police cracked and arrested the murderer Yin Mou.

  However, Li Chunzai, who was locked as a suspect in the serial homicide case, admitted 14 homicide cases, including 10 serial homicide cases, and more than 30 sex crime cases, including the eighth case. Yin Mou, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the case at the time, stated that he made a false statement under a mandatory police investigation.

  The police said that it has filed a case against eight people including the police and prosecutors involved in the eighth serial murder case due to suspected abuse of power and imprisonment. In order to carry out the necessary retrial procedures, it was first transferred to the prosecution.

  Finally, the South Korean Regional Police Director of South Korea apologized to Li Chunzai's serial murder case for everyone who was injured by the police's unreasonable investigation.
