China News Service, July 1st, according to the British "Guardian" report, on the evening of June 30 local time, an explosion occurred in a medical center in northern Tehran, Iran. The Iranian fire department said the accident had killed 19 people.

  According to reports, the explosion occurred at a medical center near Tahirish Square in Tehran. Iranian authorities initially stated that the accident caused 13 deaths, but Tehran Fire Department spokesman Jalal Maleki subsequently told Iranian media that the death toll rose to 19, including 15 women and 4 men. Maliki also said that firefighters had rescued 20 people.

  Iranian National Television quoted Saberian, the head of the Tehran emergency services, as saying that the accident may have been caused by a gas tank explosion. The report said that due to the existence of some oxygen tanks in the medical center, the explosion may occur again.

  Tatyrish Square is located in the north of Tehran and is one of the most densely populated areas in the city.
