More than 40 countries made joint statements in the Human Rights Council to support China's position on Xinjiang-related issues

  Xinhua News Agency, Geneva, July 1st-On July 1, at the 44th meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Belarus made a joint speech on behalf of 46 countries, positively evaluating China's Xinjiang human rights development achievements and countering terrorism and depolarization The results support China’s position on Xinjiang-related issues.

  Belarus stated that we reiterate that the Human Rights Council should work in an objective, transparent, non-selective, constructive, non-adversarial, and non-political manner. We reaffirm our commitment to promoting and protecting human rights, and we firmly oppose the politicization of human rights issues and double standard practices.

  Belarus pointed out that terrorism and extremism are the common enemy of human society and a serious threat to human rights. We have noted with concern that terrorism, separatism and extremism have caused tremendous harm to the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, China, and seriously damaged their human rights. We note with appreciation that China, Xinjiang, has taken a series of measures to respond to the aforementioned threats and protect the human rights of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. Xinjiang has not experienced a violent and terrorist case for three consecutive years, and has regained tranquility and stability. The human rights of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang are effectively guaranteed.

  Belarus expressed its appreciation for China’s adherence to openness and transparency, and has invited more than 1,000 diplomats, officials of international organizations, journalists and religious figures to visit Xinjiang. They witnessed the great achievements Xinjiang has made. We have noticed that China has invited the High Commissioner for Human Rights to visit Xinjiang, and the two sides are maintaining communication on this. We urge the cessation of false accusations against China using rumors. We believe that OHCHR will continue to perform its duties in accordance with its mandate, objectiveness and fairness.
