The Central Election Commission reported that 90% of the voting protocols for amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation have already been processed. 77.93% of Russians supported the changes, against 21.27%, follows from the latest CEC data.

The Russians could vote for a week - from June 25 to July 1. At the same time, in Moscow and the Nizhny Novgorod region, residents could vote remotely using electronic ballots. The CEC plans to publish the final voting results on July 2. In order for the amendments to enter into force, they must be supported by more than 50% of voters.

Citizens were asked to answer one question: "Do you approve of changes to the Constitution of the Russian Federation?" The participant could put a “for” or “against” in the ballot.

In Moscow, following the results of processing of 60.1% of the protocols of in-person voting, the amendments were supported by 65.2% of those who voted, 33.8% spoke out against. In St. Petersburg, more than 21% of ballots have already been counted - according to available data, the level of support for amendments in the northern capital exceeds 80%.

In more than 20 regions, 100% of the protocols have already been processed. So, the final information was obtained in the Irkutsk region, where amendments were supported by 64.28% of the voters, and 34.84% spoke out against. All protocols were also calculated in Primorye - 78.86% of the votes were cast for the changes, against 20.24%.

The highest level of support for the amendments was noted in the Republic of Tuva, where almost 97% of the citizens who voted in favor of the changes put to the vote.

Earlier, the results of online voting were summed up, in which more than 1 million people took part in Moscow and the Nizhny Novgorod region. 62.33% voted in favor, 37.67% voted against.

Commenting on the preliminary results of the vote, the head of the CEC, Ella Pamfilova, thanked all the employees of the Russian electoral system, journalists, public observers, law enforcement officials, as well as the citizens themselves for participating in the vote.

“I would like to thank all the citizens of Russia who considered this vote to be their civic mission, reviewed the amendments, reflected, and then freely expressed their will. Thank you all for this. Thank you so much. This means that citizens do not care what happens to the country, ”said Pamfilova.

Representatives of observers positively commented on the organization of the voting procedure and noted that most of the questions they received related to organizational issues that did not affect the voting process.

“We continue to monitor the situation, but to say that something today could call into question the result that will be announced by the Central Election Commission regardless of percent, number, and no reason,” RIA Novosti quotes the coordinator of the HRC monitoring working group on monitoring for voting in Moscow Igor Borisov.

According to him, the process was well organized, despite such innovations as the extended voting time and the ability to vote remotely. “All this was done for the health of citizens,” stated Borisov.

At the same time, in the corps of observers “For Clean Elections”, RIA Novosti said that a number of violations in the voting were still recorded, and checks were being conducted.

Along with this, the head of the CEC, Ella Pamfilova, previously indicated that there were no complaints of serious violations requiring consideration at a commission meeting.

“We vote for the country in which we want to live”

On the eve of the main stage of the all-Russian vote, President Vladimir Putin addressed the citizens. He called on Russians to vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, emphasizing the importance of each vote.

The head of state pointed out that this is not just about voting on amendments vested in legal norms.

“We vote for the country in which we want to live: with modern education and healthcare, with reliable social protection of citizens, with effective power, accountable to society. We vote for the country for which we work and which we want to pass on to our children and grandchildren, ”the president said.

He noted that in case of citizens' support, amendments to the basic law will fix in the document a number of key values and principles for Russians “as the highest, unconditional constitutional guarantees”.
