Firefighters and gendarmes discovered the corpses while browsing through the rooms of a beautiful villa overlooking Lake Paladru in Isère. Late Monday afternoon, the lifeless bodies of a woman in her forties and her octogenarian husband were found in their home in Montferrat. It was their neighbors who raised the alarm, worried that the shutters were still closed after the couple's car hadn't moved from the yard for almost a week.

As soon as the bodies were discovered, reinforcements from gendarmes from the Tour-du-Pin arrived as well as men from the scientific police who combed the scene. According to the first elements, the octogenarian could have killed his wife before committing suicide, says Le Dauphiné.

Autopsies must be performed on the victims this Tuesday or Wednesday at the medico-legal institute of Lyon to determine the causes of death. The investigations are continuing.
