Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin on the progress of the coronavirus vaccine trial. The Minister of Defense spoke at a video conference on the opening of medical centers built by the department. He noted that since June 18 at the base of the military hospital named after N.N. Burdenko vaccine tested on 38 volunteers.

“Together with the Gamalei Institute, work continues on creating a vaccine against a new coronavirus infection. Since June 18, vaccines have been tested on 38 volunteers at the Burdenko Main Military Clinical Hospital. Studies will be completed by the end of July, ”said Shoigu.

The Minister of Defense also said that four multifunctional medical centers for 400 beds were built in Voronezh and the cities of Dagestan. In addition, the construction of a medical center, which is part of a military hospital, has been completed in Penza. Meanwhile, two more hospitals are being built in the Pskov region, said Shoigu.

On June 30, 6693 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Russia. Moscow remains the leader - 745. However, this indicator is gradually decreasing - over the past four days the number of newly detected cases of infection has not exceeded 800.

Over the past day, 9220 patients were cured in the country. Lethal outcomes - 154.

Meanwhile, more and more regions are weakening the restrictive measures introduced earlier to combat the spread of COVID-19.

So, the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev allowed to resume the work of kindergartens in the region since July. The head of the region wrote about this in his Instagram account.

“I consider it possible to resume the work of all kindergartens with a 50% load,” the official wrote.

The authorities of the Perm Territory, meanwhile, abolished from July 1 restrictions on the sale of alcohol, also imposed due to the spread of coronavirus. It is reported on the website of the governor and the regional government. Over the past three months, alcoholic beverages in regional stores could be purchased from 11:00 to 20:00, but now - from 8:00 to 23:00.

Nevertheless, the authorities of the region decided to extend the regime of self-isolation until July 14.

COVID-19 Award

During the fight against the pandemic, an important role was played by volunteers who helped older people and other categories of citizens who did not have the opportunity to go out.

One of them was Svetlana Anuryeva, who was posthumously awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Pirogov. The rewarding of Svetlana Anurieva is said in the decree of President Vladimir Putin, published on the Kremlin website.

“For the dedication shown in the fight against coronavirus infection (COVID-19), award the Order of Pirogov to Svetlana Borisovna Anuryeva - volunteer, Ulyanovsk Region (posthumously),” the document says.

According to the website “Medical Volunteers”, 19-year-old Anuryeva became a volunteer in February last year. After the pandemic began, she was delivering food to single elderly people. In May, doctors discovered fourth-degree cancer in a girl. However, even after this, Anuryeva continued to help those in need. May 31 she died.

Also, by the decision of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region Sergey Morozov, the name Anuryeva was assigned to the Ulyanovsk Medical College. In addition, the sign “For Contribution to the Development of Volunteering named after Svetlana Anuryeva” was established in the region.

"Hard reality"

Despite the improvement of the situation with COVID-19 in a number of countries, the spread of the pandemic in the world as a whole is accelerating. This was stated at a press briefing by the Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus.

“The tough reality is that the situation is not over yet,” he said.

In his speech, Tedros Adhan Gebreyesus also noted that June 30 marks exactly half a year since WHO received the first reports of an outbreak of unknown type of pneumonia in China. During this time, the number of people infected in the world reached ten million people, more than 500 thousand died.

In addition, Gebreyesus said the organization would send experts to China next week to examine the origin of the coronavirus. In his opinion, it will become easier to fight the virus if everything becomes known about it, including how it began to spread. Gebreyesus also noted that this work will help prepare for future outbreaks of disease.
