On June 29, the Three Gorges Project opened two flood discharge holes to increase the discharge flow and conduct the first flood discharge this year.

Affected by heavy rainfall in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the amount of water entering the Three Gorges Reservoir continued to increase. From 14:00 on June 28 to 2:00 on 29th, the first round of 40,000 cubic meters of flood reached the Three Gorges Reservoir every second this year. In response to this round of incoming water, the Yangtze River Defense General requires that the discharge flow from the Three Gorges Reservoir be raised to an average of 35,000 cubic meters per second.

At present, the incoming water in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River has turned back. As of 14:00 on June 29, the inflow of the Three Gorges has dropped to 37,000 cubic meters per second, and the outflow of the reservoir is 34,500 cubic meters per second. Due to flood storage, the water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir has risen to 147.58 meters at 18:00 on the same day. (Nie Shuang Dong Xiaobin Zhou Xingliang Editor Dong Xiaobin)
