China News Service, June 29, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' "Consular Express" WeChat public account, since July 2018, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Syria issued four consecutive cautious trips to Syrian Damascus based on the security situation in Syria. Do not go to other areas of Syria for safety reminders. The last reminder is valid until June 30, 2020. According to the current security situation, the validity period of the security reminder is now extended to December 31, 2020, as follows:

At present, the Syrian war is still going on. The capital Damascus and other Syrian government-controlled areas have been repeatedly hit by air strikes. There have been many explosions. There have been frequent cases of terrorist crimes such as shootings, kidnappings, extortion, and armed robbery. The security situation is still not optimistic.

In view of the fact that the current situation easily poses a huge security risk to the parties and makes it difficult for the embassy in Syria to provide effective assistance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in Syria reminded Chinese citizens to travel cautiously to the capital of Damascus in Syria in the near future and not to other areas of Syria. If the party insists on going, the cost of providing consular protection and assistance shall be borne by the individual.
