SVT can now tell about a major cheating among dental companies that perform a special type of dental care and where the region stands for the bill. The region's own investigation showed that just over 40 per cent of the invoices sent in had coverage and a total of around SEK 1 million was claimed back.
But you didn't even look at one percent of how many invoices come in a year. A total of over 100,000 invoices and dental care which in 2019 cost the Stockholm region SEK 233 million.
Left Party: "Hypocrisy that the majority doesn't do more"At the same time, the Left Party criticizes the governing majority in the Stockholm region for not doing more to access the cheating regarding necessary dental care and should report more dental companies to the police. The chair of the dental care committee, center party Karin Fälldin, says that it is difficult to report the cheating to the police as it would not lead to legal sanctions.
So far, the companies have been forced to repay SEK 1 million to the Stockholm region after the investigation. According to the Left Party, the dark figure is large, the cheat may have cost the taxpayers tens of millions of dollars each year.
