Hervé Neau (citizen left) is elected mayor of Rezé this June 28, 2020. - F.Brenon / 20Minutes

Nine cities of the Nantes metropolis were concerned by a second round of the municipal elections this Sunday. In a context of strong abstention, the main sensation came from Orvault, where the municipality passes to the left after being ruled for thirty-seven years by the right. Jean-Sébastien Guitton, a leading environmentalist of the united left, won with 41.7% of the vote. He is ahead of two right-wing candidates who had not managed to make a common list: Sébastien Arrouët (30.7%) and Monique Maisonneuve (27.5%). The outgoing mayor, Joseph Parpaillon (DvD), was not a candidate.

Another surprise, this time in Bouguenais: Sandra Imperiale, candidate of the right and the center, delighted a historic bastion of the left. She won with 52.93% of the vote against Gauthier Lorthiois (PC), 47.1%. The latter, candidate of the outgoing majority, had however allied with two other lists of left (Base and EELV) and was in majority in voice at the end of the first turn. The town hall of Bouguenais was on the left since 1971!

In Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire, the city also changes borders and goes back to the left since the outgoing mayor Jean-Guy Alix (various right) is beaten. Anthony Descloziers (PS) wins in the framework of a triangular.

Same observation in Thouaré-sur-Loire. The municipality veers to the left thanks to the victory of Martine Oger (various left). With 51.7%, she is ahead of Isabelle Grousseau, various right candidate whose mission was to ensure the succession of Serge Mounier, outgoing mayor.

A slap for Gérard Allard in Rezé

Rezé, the fourth city of Loire-Atlantique by its population, remains on the left but the outgoing mayor is beaten. Gérard Allard (PS) in fact obtains only 22.7% of the votes within the framework of a triangular and leaves his post to Hervé Neau, the candidate of the left citizen who, him, collects 60.6%. He was already in the lead after the first round.

In Couëron, the outgoing mayor Carole Grelaud (PS) was re-elected with 53.2% of the votes. In Indre, the mayor Serge David (DVG) left by Anthony Berthelot (citizen left). The latter obtains 40.49% within the framework of a triangular.

Finally, at Pellerin, the situation is exceptional since only three votes separate the winner, François Brillaud de Laujardière (DvD), from Sandrine Fallot (DvG). The mayor, Patrick Gravouyère (DvD), did not stand for re-election.
