Facing a divided left, Pierre Savelli was the favorite. The outgoing mayor of Bastia was re-elected with 49.37% of the vote. This elected nationalist was supported by the president of the Executive Council of Corsica Gilles Simeoni, who appears in seventh position on his list.

Result of the municipal elections in Bastia

In the first round, Pierre Savelli came out on top with 30.4% of the votes cast, but he could have been worried if all the opposition lists and in particular the three various lists on the left, embodied by Jean-Sébastien De Casalta ( 20.02%), Jean Zuccarelli (13.83%) and Julien Morganti (12.42%) had managed to unite.

If Jean-Sébastien De Casalta presented a broad union list bringing together Jean Zuccarelli of the radical left party and Jean-Martin Mondoloni (DVD, 8.96%), from the regionalist right supported by the federation Les Républicains de Haute-Corse , Julien Morganti refused the union and stayed for the second round.

Julien Morganti obtained 10.9% of the votes in the second round, against 39.73% for Jean-Sébastien de Casalta.
