28 June 2020New Sunday of passion for the highways of Liguria: between open construction sites and night closings. From the early hours of the morning queues formed which then dragged on throughout the day, making the return of the weekend holidaymakers an ordeal. Furious the President of the Region, Giovanni Toti, who announced that tomorrow he will sign an ordinance that "disposes of revising that work plan incompatible with security, the right to mobility, the right to freedom of enterprise, a crazy plan, even against logic ".

The first inconveniences were caused by the night queues on the highway and in Aurelia due to the closures from 10 pm to 6 am of some sections subject to inspection. There were up to six kilometers of queue on the A26 towards Genova Voltri between Ovada and Masone for an accident. Dramatic situation in the A10 where the six hours to travel the Pietra Ligure-Recco stretch were almost two hours and a quarter to go from Savona to Genoa. A car snake has formed on the A12 between Nervi and Recco.

At this point it is urgent to find an agreement on the complete closings planned by Autostrade which are still under discussion with the Ministry of Transport, to avoid the paralysis of the A26, A10, A7 and A12 motorways.

Toti hoped that in the face of his order "Mit and Autostrade present a new work plan, serious and feasible". "Of course, the government could challenge our ordinance, declaring that we are not competent on motorway concessions," he said, "I hope he does not do so and does not take on this responsibility. In any case, we will ask that Liguria be compensated for the enormous damage that is being suffering. " Anci Liguria got a video conference for Tuesday with the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Paola De Micheli. In a letter its president, the mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, underlined that the Ligurian road network is "a bad business card for a territory that thrives mainly on tourism, and that wants to start again after a long lockdown".
