In March, SVT Nyheter Västerbotten told that there was great concern among the Ammarnäs residents when the district nurse reception was cut down.

After all, now comes a message that pleases the Ammarnäs residents. Karin Strigård, chief physician and associate professor of surgery at Umeå University Hospital, has agreed with Region Västerbotten to open a spontaneous reception in the community room in Ammarnäs during the summer.

She has spent a lot of time in Ammarnäs in recent years and has also bought houses in the village.

- Very funny, it feels incredibly good and I hope it encourages more people to want to try work here when they are up in their cabins or in the mountain world, says Peter Berggren, area manager for local health care in Lycksele / Southern Lapland.

In the clip you hear Ammarnäs residents and Karin Strigård about why it is important with access to care inland.
