Louis Aliot. - Alain ROBERT / SIPA

According to estimates from Ifop and Fiducial for M6 and Sud Radio, Louis Aliot (RN) would be elected mayor of Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales) this Sunday, with 54% of the vote. The outgoing mayor, Jean-Marc Pujol (LR), would gather 46% of the votes.

If these estimates are confirmed, Perpignan would be the first city of more than 100,000 inhabitants to fall into the fold of the National Rally.

The results of the municipal elections

Louis Aliot came out on top in the first round

In the first round, the list led by Louis Aliot came out on top, with 35.65% of the vote. Inspired by Robert Ménard in Béziers (Hérault), this former secretary general of the FN had presented "an opening list, of gathering", with fellow students from the RN, but not only, he said, during his campaign.

Jean-Marc Pujol (LR), the outgoing mayor of Perpignan, won the support of 18.43% of the voters, ranking second in the ballot. Respectively third and fourth of this ballot, with 14.51% and 13.17%, Agnès Langevine (EELV) and Romain Grau (LREM) had decided to withdraw to block the election of Louis Aliot.
