According to reports, Cassidy and Benken adjusted the spacesuit to automatic power supply mode, and then began to time out. The astronauts spent more than six hours in open space, performing battery replacement work, replacing old batteries with new lithium batteries.

The report said that the next spacewalk is expected to take place on July 1.

Earlier in January, two American female astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meyer of the International Space Station also went out of the cabin to replace the space station with a higher-performance lithium battery.

The two removed the last two nickel-metal hydride batteries near the space station's solar panels, moved them to an external platform, and installed the sixth and final lithium battery. The two batteries that were removed will be handled by the Japanese cargo ship "Stork" arriving at the space station in the second half of 2020.
