Unusually early algal blooms along the Gävleborg coast

- Normally, reports of algal blooms usually come in late July or early August. The fact that the algae are already coming is of course due to the unusually warm weather, says Kristin Dahlgren, marine officer at the Information Center for the Gulf of Bothnia. It was already June 15 that the first reports came from the Middle Bay. This day, the confirmation of the water samples came that they were toxic algae. Also in Söderhamn, it has been confirmed that there are toxic algae in the Baggarsundet and Norrviken in the inner Norrfjärd.
