The accident happened at the height of Smedtofta, north of Vara at 13.30. The rescue service has been on site with forces from Järpås and Vara but was able to leave the site after about an hour.
"The driver had gotten out of the car," says Thomas Algotsson, force leader at the rescue service in Lidköping.
According to SOS, a person was taken by ambulance to hospital after the accident. The police have also been alerted to the scene and according to their information they are minor injuries.
There is a stop in the train traffic on the Kinnekullebanan, between Mariestad and Håkantorp due to the accident. Travelers are referred to the respective train companies for information on possible replacement buses.
