The leaders of AS Béziers will enter into exclusive negotiations with the Emirati investors, represented by Christophe Dominici, interested in a takeover, the club of Pro D2 announced on Saturday.

"The two parties met in Paris to discuss the future of AS Béziers Hérault, in a peaceful and constructive atmosphere," the club wrote in a press release.

"During this meeting, the current shareholders could have been reassured about the identity of the investors and their financial capacity. At the same time, the financial accounts of the club appeared sincere and reassuring. The two parties sought their advice in order to draft, within a short time, a memorandum of understanding, while entering an exclusivity period ", continues the club.

Friday, the majority shareholder of ASBH Louis-Pierre Angelotti abandoned his plan to take over the club, reopening the way for buyout by Emirati investors and Christophe Dominici.

Angelotti said he had "suffered severe insults and unacceptable and unbearable threats".

The club announced Tuesday that the takeover project carried by Mr. Angelotti, associated with the former president of the Stade Toulousain Jean-René Bouscatel, had been retained. In the process, the mayor of the city, Robert Ménard, said he was "surprised" and had announced his intention to bring "everyone around a table".

Dominici, a former XV international from France, said that he wanted to "build a great team, with national and international players".
