The German Football Association (DFL) announced on Friday that the Polish superstar Robert Lewandowski won the award for the best player in the Bundesliga for the current season 2019-2020.

Under the supervision of German coach Hans Flick, Lewandowski contributed to overcoming the difficult start for Bayern and crowning the Bavarian team with the eighth league title in a row, after fierce competition with historical rival Borussia Dortmund.

Lewandowski outperformed players who leveled high with their clubs, such as Leipzig striker Timo Werner, Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho and fellow Erling Halland.

Lewandowski joined Bayern in the summer of 2014 from Dortmund, in a free transfer deal, and participated in 283 games during which he scored 239 goals, and made 53.
