Israel and the UAE have stated that they will cooperate together in the fight against the Corona virus, in the first public plan of its kind, and Israeli media have indicated that the UAE is providing Israel with 100,000 machines to scan the Corona.

The Emirates News Agency stated that two companies from the UAE private sector will cooperate with two Israeli companies in medical projects, including those related to combating the emerging virus.

"This scientific and medical partnership comes to overcome historical political challenges in the region, within a humanitarian priority and constructive cooperation aimed at addressing the Covid-19 pandemic and cooperation for the health of the citizens of the region," the agency said.

She added that the interest and protection of mankind and mankind have become a top priority to work together to get rid of the Corona pandemic.

On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that the Israeli and UAE health ministers had agreed on a project for cooperation between the two countries in the area of fighting the Corona virus.

Netanyahu added, during a graduation ceremony at the Air College, that this announcement was the result of lengthy contacts made in recent months.

In this context, too, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper website revealed that Abu Dhabi - which does not have diplomatic relations with Israel - provided Tel Aviv with 100,000 devices to check Corona last March.

The Israeli military censors allowed the publication of this information after Netanyahu announced the growing solid cooperation between the UAE and Israel in the health field.

This huge amount of aid was transported by an Emirati plane directly to Ben Gurion Airport, east of Tel Aviv, and it was announced at the time that this shipment was donated by a country with which Israel has secret relations as an aid to counter the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.

The Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways company in May went to the first known flight of an Emirati airline to Israel, carrying aid related to the Corona virus to the Palestinians, but the Palestinian Authority denied any knowledge of it and refused to receive it.

"Do not dispute" with the annexation

In a speech to a conference of the American Jewish Committee - a group concerned with supporting the Jews - on June 16, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Emirates Anwar Gargash said that Israel could not wait to normalize relations with the Arab world if it included lands in the occupied West Bank.

He added that cooperation with Israel to confront the Covid-19 pandemic does not affect the UAE's opposition to the proposed land annexation.

Such cooperation comes at a time when Arab opposition to Israeli plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank is seeking to establish a state, according to the American peace plan.

On July 1, Israel is scheduled to begin a government discussion on sovereignty over settlements in the West Bank.
