The United States is reopening "safely and responsibly" despite a spike in cases in some areas of the south of the country. American Vice President Mike Pence said so, almost a message sent to Brussels in the hours when the EU is deciding whether to reopen its borders to American travelers. According to Pence, the increase in cases is linked to the high number of tests conducted, the same thesis of Donald Trump, partially denied by the experts, because the alarming estimates of these hours (in reality the contagions would be 23 million in the US) are based on blood samples collected nationally, samples that reveal the presence of antibodies, as explained by the CoC.

Pence speaks during the first press point on Covid for two months now. Anthony Fauci, the virologist at the head of the White House task force, is also with him. "A serious problem," defines the boom of contagions in some states. His words came soon after the vice president tried to reassure the situation.

"23 million are the real infections". The truth that Trump doesn't like
"Coronavirus deaths are falling. The death rate is one of the lowest in the world. Our economy is starting up again and will NOT be closed again": Donald Trump's tweet sounds like a a warning to those US states that, overwhelmed by a wave of contagions, begin to slow down on the return to normal. But it is also a warning to the health authorities, who are now exposed and reveal what could be the dramatic reality: at least 23 million people infected in America, ten times more than the official figures indicate so far.

The director of the CoC: "This is our best estimate"
And yes, because "for every coronavirus case there would be at least ten other people infected", is the alarm launched by Robert Redfiled, director of the CoC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the highest federal public health authority. "This is our best estimate," he admitted, explaining how it is achieved based on blood samples collected nationally, samples that reveal the presence of antibodies.

Other, therefore, that too many tests that would raise the official number of cases in the US, as claimed by the American president. Indeed, Anthony Fauci, the top expert hired by the White House to deal with the pandemic from a medical point of view, has in the last few hours admitted that on the strategy front "something is not working". Moreover, on Thursday officially the new cases were 400 thousand and the victims 2,500: too many. So Fauci explained how a new approach, that of 'pooltesting', is being evaluated: testing multiple people at the same time, on whole groups, to identify cases of contagion more quickly and isolate them more immediately and effectively.

We abolish Obamacare (in the midst of a pandemic)
The task force led by Vice-President Mike Pence would return to meet the press after two months on this. Meanwhile, a new offensive against Obamacare, Barack Obama's unhealthy health reform, starts from the White House, with the Trump administration asking the US Supreme Court to cancel it. A move to try to revitalize the president's base and put an old workhorse back in the middle of the campaign for his reelection.

But, the Democrats accuse, abolishing Obamacare would now mean removing health insurance for millions of Americans in the midst of a pandemic, "a disaster". "Dismantling the reform would worsen an already inadequate coronavirus response," said Joe Biden, accusing the tycoon of failing to protect Americans from the virus and of now wanting to remove health coverage from millions of families. "It would be an act of incomprehensible cruelty", the speaker of the Chamber Nancy Pelosi added. But according to the Department of Justice, led by Trump loyalist William Barr, Obama's health care reform is invalid and unconstitutional.

Meanwhile, the situation is becoming more and more serious in Florida and Texas
In the meantime the situation has become more and more serious, especially in Florida and Texas, where the closing order for all bars, but not for restaurants and others, was triggered public places. It is difficult to say whether it will be enough to curb a spread of the record contagion that has recorded a boom of 9,000 new cases in Florida in a single day and over 16,000 cases in three days in Texas. Not to mention California, where in spite of everything we evaluate whether to reopen schools. On the other hand, the situation in the former epicenter of New York is quieter, where it is planned to move on to 'phase 3' on July 6th.
