In response to a series of large-scale disasters such as heavy rains and typhoons in recent years, the government has put together a concrete plan to strengthen the disaster prevention system.
As a result, in response to the heavy rains in western Japan and large-scale disasters of typhoon No. 19 last year, the ministers were appointed by the Prime Minister, who had strengthened the command tower function rather than the "emergency disaster response headquarters" of the general manager. It will be possible to newly set up a "Special Emergency Response Headquarters".
In addition, if there is a risk of a disaster, it is possible to set up a countermeasures headquarters before the occurrence so that evacuation can be carried out smoothly.
The government will proceed with coordination with the ruling party and other parties in the direction of submitting a revised draft of the Basic Act on Disaster Countermeasures that includes these contents to the ordinary Diet session next year.
