The antibody tests are offered at several of Uppsala's regional health centers, but also at some private health centers there is the opportunity to test themselves. Svartbäcken Health Center is one of several health centers in Uppsala that offer antibody testing.

"The times we released for a week ahead ended in 20 minutes," says Ulrika Adolfsson, acting operations manager at Svartbäcken's health center.

During Wednesday morning, 500 test times were released and the same day 265 antibody tests were performed. Region Uppsala's plan is to adapt capacity to demand.

- We are increasing the capacity for the public to book themselves, by adding more health centers to the possibility of offering antibody testing. We will also, among other things, offer our patients to be tested in conjunction with other sampling, ”says Anne Johansson, sampling manager at Near Health and Care.

Seeking staff for sampling

The Uppsala region also announces the appointment of more nursing staff who will be recruited to work specifically with sampling.

Will regular care in Primary Care be affected by working with antibody tests?

- No, the idea is that we should offer sampling where we see that we have the opportunity, and that we should recruit staff so that we can avoid displacement effects, says Anne Johansson.
