On Friday, Region Blekinge launched a digital care app, "Your Care Region Blekinge", which will allow the bleachers to meet healthcare personnel without having to do it physically.

- Corona pandemic has given extra momentum to this process. We do not want patients with suspected coronary infection at our clinics, says Peter Franke, project manager.

He emphasizes that the app should be seen as a complement to existing care, since a physical examination is often needed.

"Young people have asked for this"

The youth reception and health centers are the first businesses to offer the digital visits.

- Young people have been asking for this. Visiting a youth clinic can be difficult. This also makes visits possible every day of the week in all our municipalities, says Anneli Nilsson, head of department at the youth reception in Blekinge.

Staffing can be problematic

Chief physician Ingemar Lilja sees that there will be challenges with staffing during holiday times.

- If there is a big pressure, it can be tricky, since we are basically on half staff. We have to be aware that this does not take time for us as we should have put more important things in, ”he says.

The idea is that digital healthcare visits will increase in scope this fall, as staffing increases.
