In the United States, while the country recorded this week a record of coronavirus cases in less than 24 hours, more than 40,000, the vice president held a press conference Friday to take stock of the subject. It had been more than 2 months since these daily points no longer took place. And Mike Pence especially took the opportunity to reassure, despite the figures.

In front of the journalists, the vice-president appeared smiling and reassuring. For Mike Pence, it is necessary to take the alarming figures of the contaminations in the country with a little hindsight: "  When we see new cases on the rise, the American people may tend to think that we are back to the box where we was 2 months ago. In reality, it is much better. We slowed the spread, flattened the curve, and saved lives.  "

The vice president assured that the numbers are on the rise partly because of the intensified testing. He called on the Americans to continue taking their precautions. Asked about the contradictions between these guidelines and the organization of campaign meetings for the re-election of Donald Trump, Mike Pence defended freedom of expression and the right to participate in the electoral process guaranteed by the Constitution.

Present alongside Mike Pence, Doctor Fauci was a little more worried. “  We have a serious problem in certain regions. We are not going to try to blame or analyze. If this epidemic is not stopped, sooner or later, even those who are well will be vulnerable. And the only way to win is to win together,  "he said.

The team of experts led by the vice president should travel next week to Texas, Arizona and Florida, 3 states most affected.
