Two men will be tried on July 7 before the Rennes Criminal Court for aggravated theft. They are accused of having burgled a room in which there were about twenty high-end bikes, reports Ouest-France . The facts took place in May 2019 at the Trémelin estate in the town of Iffendic to the west of Rennes.

On that day, the Specialized brand invited amateur cyclists to present their new range of road and cyclo-cross bikes. The day after the exhibition, the organizers discovered that the storage room had been robbed and that the 21 bikes had disappeared, the damage amounting to around 200,000 euros.

Bikes sold on the Internet

After a long investigation, the gendarmes succeeded in identifying the two alleged perpetrators of the burglary thanks to the report of a surfer. The latter had spotted on a specialized sales site three bikes of the brand sold at a price far below market prices.

After identifying the authors of the announcement, the gendarmes finally managed to trace the alleged burglars, two young people with no history. Almost all the bikes were found and returned to the manufacturer, the daily said.
