It will be a baking day and SMHI Class 1 warns of high temperatures in large parts of Svealand and southern and central Norrland.

The hottest weather is expected to be in a stretch between Umeå and Södertälje, where it can be over 30 degrees hot.

- When there is a warning of high temperatures, be sure to be prepared. If you do not have an air conditioner at home, you should consider prepping there and keeping windows open and curtains drawn. It is also important to get fluid so that you do not become dehydrated, says Tora Bolin.

Unusually hot

Is it unusually warm for the season?

- It's a little unusual. It is still early in the season, normally the temperature is usually around 20 to 25 degrees this time of year, says Tora Bolin.

What are the risks with the heat?

- It is very, very dry in forest and land, which means that there is a fire risk. It is particularly dry in eastern Svealand and up along the Norrland coast.

Less volatile on Saturday

How long does the heat last?

- It continues today Thursday and tomorrow Friday. On Saturday, things start to get a bit unstable and the really warm weather breaks around Sunday.

For those who think the temperatures are a little warm, Tora Bolin recommends going out into the archipelago, where the wind and the cooler water keep the temperatures down.

In northern Norrland it is also somewhat cooler than the rest of the country - where the temperatures will be around 19 degrees in the middle of the day today.
