See in the clip from Älvsborg harbor how it looks

It still smells of smoke during Thursday and several firefighters are still in place. The rescue services had a hard time extinguishing the fire and one reason could be that the trailers were close to each other.

"It is desirable that there would be a greater distance between the trailers, but it is another matter to be able to demand it," says Svante Carlsson, chief of emergency services in Greater Gothenburg.

The day after the fire

There is full activity in the harbor. Insurance people are in place and make estimates of the damage after yesterday's fire where the smoke was both felt and seemed a long way off. The rescue service extinguishes firefighters who fire in the devastation after 18 containers burned up at Älvsborgshamnen's terminal five. Gothenburg Roro Terminal, GRT, is in charge of the terminal and its manager was himself in place during Wednesday evening when the fire raged.

Tires that exploded

The trailers that burned up in the harbor had no explosive material, but tires sitting on the truck trailers caused explosions that were heard long way. There was dog food, paper and sanitary articles in the burnt-out trailers.

No regular fire drills

No person was injured and the police suspect no crime and will therefore close the case. But the company itself has initiated an internal investigation into the fire. At the same time, it appears that no regular fire drills are done at the terminal, which is because many are temporary employees and because ships that add often stay a short time.

- It's hard to get, says Björn Wånge, who adds that there are theoretical fire drills with staff and managers.

- If we have failed in some processes, we will definitely learn from it, for example when there may be more fire drills for all staff, says Björn Wånge.
