China News Service, June 25th, integrated Chinese website reported that on June 24, another senior economic official of US President Trump suddenly announced that he would leave the White House. This made him the second senior White House economic official to announce his departure in June.

According to reports, White House spokesperson Judd Deere said in an email that the acting chairman of the White House Economic Advisory Committee, Phillipson, will leave office at the end of June. Only 2 days ago, Kevin Hassett, a senior White House economic official, Philipson’s predecessor and chairman of the Economic Advisory Board, announced that he would resign.

Deere said in an email: "After (serving) for three years, Phillipson, acting chairman of the White House Economic Advisory Committee, will leave the Economic Advisory Committee at the end of this month and will return to the University of Chicago in the fall."

Phillipson also posted on his social media account on the 24th a letter he announced to Trump on June 23 announcing his departure. The letter wrote: "I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to work in the Economic Advisory Committee for nearly 3 years."

According to several White House officials, Phillipson did not have the same outstanding advisory skills as his predecessor Hassett in the White House. But he has been outspoken in supporting President Trump on social media.
