Upsala Nya Tidning was the first to report on the dramatic birth. It all started with Tanja Ivis, in April, starting to feel diffuse symptoms such as rashes and headaches. At first she thought it was due to pregnancy but in 1177 she asked her to go to the hospital as they suspected that it might be a coronary infection.

"In the morning, doctors and nurses came into the room and told me I had corona and that they would do an emergency caesarean section in 40 minutes," says Tanja.

Became a fight

The newborn twins stayed healthy but for Tanja the next few weeks became a struggle. She carried the virus for at least a month and needed to stay in hospital and get oxygen for some time. At the same time, her husband and son were stranded in Croatia because of the travel ban, so Tanja's parents and sister-in-law had to take care of the newborn babies.
