In Colombia, the national quarantine is extended until July 15. "  More isolation, with a revival  " of the economy, sums up El Colombiano in One. Travel still limited on the national territory and reserved for certain categories of populations, proscribed public and private events, gymnasiums and closed swimming pools, just like restaurants. Semana takes stock this Wednesday on what it is - or not - possible to do in Colombia the next days.

El Espectador devotes its front page to asymptomatic patients. For the newspaper, finding a way to locate and isolate them constitutes "  the only way out  " of containment. At the same time, the stigmatization of Covid-19 patients and of nursing staff continues in certain regions, "  to the point that not only do those affected prefer to hide and suffer in silence, but that certain communities also refuse screening  ", regrets El Tiempo . This behavior (...) seriously limits the possibility of facing the disease and of overcoming it in a rational manner  ", while "  this evil is here to stay and that it spares no one  ". The Covid-19 is not shameful,  "proclaims the newspaper in its editorial.

Colombia : arrest of the "Indian"

Colombian news is also marked by the arrest of a FARC dissident chief. For La Opinion , conservative newspaper Cúcuta is a blow to the dissent, which has approximately 1,500 armed men. The man nicknamed "  El Indio Amansador  " was, explains the newspaper, "  one of the most wanted criminals in the department of Cauca for his participation in multiple attacks against the police, as well as for the murder of social and indigenous leaders. Among the victims are the leader of the Nasa ethnic group, Cristina Bautista, and five other members of her community  . ” The Indian  " would also be responsible, maintains La Opinion , "  for the abduction of two foreign citizens, of Swiss and Brazilian nationality, who were rescued by the national army a few days ago  ".

US : Bubba the Wallace case is not a racist

It is a reversal in this business which started at the beginning of the week. On Saturday, a black driver from Nascar, a very popular automobile championship in the United States, found a hanged man in his garage. Bubba Wallace had notably been able to count on the support of competing teams . But according to the first elements of the investigation opened by the FBI, it would not be a racist act, because this rope was present in this garage in the fall. Questioned by CNN , the pilot nevertheless maintains that what he saw in his garage "  was not a door handle  ". It was not aimed at me, but someone did make a noose  ," he says.

These latest developments, of course, attract comments in the press. Our immediate reaction should be relief,  " said the Washington Examiner , a conservative media outlet. “  But it may be time to admit that our society is a little too eager to find hate crimes where there are none. This is partly understandable, but nevertheless unacceptable. The tensions are high, the polarization seems to be getting worse  ”. The Saint Louis Post-Dispatch , for its part, sweeps the controversy and recalls that "  the fans of Nascar nonetheless defied the ban and tried to enter the field with Confederate flags  ", symbols of the slavery past of the 'Alabama. So "  the question that should be asked is why the events of NASCAR have become a safe area for racists  ".
