- It is getting drier and drier, which means that the risk of fires in forests and land is increasing significantly, says Marcus Björklund, emergency preparedness director at the county administrative board in Skåne.
The regions in Skåne that have so far introduced a ban on burning are Bjuv, Helsingborg, Höganäs, Åstorp, Ängelholm and Örkelljunga. Should the heat keep up, and without sufficient rainfall, it may be relevant for more regions to impose a firing ban.
- It has to be careful. Follow the restrictions that exist and think about an extra time whether you should fire or not. Think like a scout and don't bring the disposable grill into the forest, says Marcus Björklund.
Under a normal fire ban, it is permissible to use prepared barbecue places in the outdoors. If the next degree were to be applied, that is to say a total fire ban, it is forbidden to light an open fire anywhere except on your own site.
