After restoration, the monument “Motherland is calling!” Was opened in Volgograd

The Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova took part in the events.

She noted that the pearl of the monument-ensemble “To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad” personifies the strength of spirit, courage, heroism and fearlessness of Soviet soldiers.

“Every year hundreds of thousands of people come here to honor the memory of soldiers and civilians who died during the Great Patriotic War. That is why it is important for us to preserve it for generations, in memory of our great history, ”said the head of the Ministry of Culture.

Lyubimova congratulated the guests of honor with the opening of the updated sculpture - one of the largest monuments in Russia.

Restoration of the sculpture "Motherland is calling!" have not been held since its discovery in 1967.
