Istanbul witnessed a strong rainstorm yesterday, Tuesday, and the Turkish authorities announced the death of a Syrian youth due to the torrents, and the rescue of three Syrian children trapped in water in a house.

"Unfortunately, one of our Syrian guests has passed away, and he is about 30-32 years old," Madina Governor Ali Yerli Qaya told reporters yesterday.

He added that the emergency teams rescued three Syrian children trapped in water in their house on the ground floor of one of the residential buildings in the Esenyurt region of the European part of Istanbul.

The governor explained that the children were two, three and five years old, and they were transferred to the government hospital in Esenyurt, stressing that their health was good.

He pointed out that there are four citizens injured by the torrents, who are receiving treatment in hospitals, and their health is good.
