• Settlement of accounts. A man shot in the Marbella hospital is abandoned: there are no stages for crime

The National Police continues to tighten the fence on organized crime that operates on the Costa del Sol and has arrested three individuals who shot a member of their organization as a "serious warning" of what could happen to them if they did not comply with the orders. The arrested, who were hiding in the municipalities of Marbella and Estepona, have entered prison accused of illicit association, serious injuries, illegal possession of weapons and theft and use of vehicle.

The investigation began the morning of May 25, when the state of alarm began to relax. The victim, a 27-year-old Briton, was admitted to Marbella's Costa del Sol hospital with several shots to the legs in what at first seemed like a reckoning.

The young man was accompanied by a friend of Irish origin and at all times they maintained that the assault with a firearm occurred in a street in Marbella during the attempt to steal a watch. Although the inconsistencies and inaccuracies in their stories made those responsible for the case suspect that they could be facing an attack linked to drug trafficking .

Despite the lies, the agents discovered where the events had occurred: the house that one of them occupied in this municipality; and later they accurately detailed - make and model - the vehicle used by the attackers. Their trail ended up leading them to the members of the same gang to which the victim belonged.

Those responsible for the case arrested three men as allegedly responsible for the reckoning: two Britons -AW and JA-, aged 23 and 24; and JPH, an Irishman of 29, almost two meters tall and weighing more than 150 kilos, in charge of pretending that he collaborated with the investigation and whose sole purpose is to divert attention from the real perpetrators of the events.

The Provincial Police Station of Malaga has reported that, "on more than one occasion, he accompanied different police crews to the place where he stated that the event had occurred," which was more than six kilometers away from the actual place of the events. . "He even went as far as pretending to assist officers in the search for blood remains, knowing that they would never be found there."

Sources close to the case consulted by this newspaper explained that the organization, which had long been established on the Costa del Sol, was engaged in cocaine trafficking and consider that the shooting of one of its members was a "serious warning" whose background has not transpired. . "They did not want to speak."

Convinced that the investigators would never suspect the person who attended and accompanied the victim to the hospital, members of the criminal network agreed to hide the weapon used in his home.

However, during the post-arrest search it was located. It was a semi-automatic pistol , ready to be used, since it had a bullet in the chamber and a magazine full of ammunition. In addition, a silencer and 140 cartridges were found, as well as the sweatshirt used by the person who fired the shots, which contained remains of the victim's blood. Three stolen vehicles available to the organization also intervened to commit the facts with absolute impunity.

The three detainees have entered prison after being brought before the judicial authority accused of the crimes of illicit association, serious injuries, illicit possession of weapons and theft and use of vehicles. The victim "has disappeared from the map", but is alive, they rush to clarify the sources consulted. "He has left the country."
