Murder investigation after the car fire in Strovreta is closed

It was on the evening of March 26 that police and rescue services were alerted to Storvreta where a car was in flames. When the fire was extinguished, three bodies were found in the car.

The forensic examination shows that both the children and the father died from the fire, which the father is believed to have caused. There was no evidence that any of them were subjected to violence.

Among the evidence in the investigation is a film from Facebook.

- I do not want to say anything about the content other than that it was recorded at another time and that it reinforces the suspicions that it is the father did this, says Anne Sjöblom.

The fact that the preliminary investigation has now been closed will mean that the case will not be tried in court.

"The suspect is deceased," says Anne Sjöblom.
