"China has lectured 10 platforms for broadcasting live videos for their" dissolute "content showing users in light clothes or" vulgar erotic dances ", the national internet regulator said on Tuesday.

The Asian country prohibits pornography and has a relatively low tolerance threshold vis-à-vis any image, film or text evoking sex too explicitly.

Among the targeted platforms are Bilibili (listed on Nasdaq) or iXigua (owned by the giant ByteDance, parent company of the TikTok application), said the Chinese Cyberspace Administration (CAC).

They were reprimanded and ordered to suspend the registration of new users and to review all the accounts, according to the same source.

"Some female presenters wear suggestive clothes, while men indulge in rude words and acts, performing vulgar erotic dances, satires or even cursing, despite repeated warnings," said the author. administration.

The 10 platforms will have to "correct" their practices and are required to blacklist recalcitrant users.

Chinese authorities closely monitor content on the internet. They notably ask the sites to censor pornography and overly critical political comments by the authorities.

They find it more difficult to monitor live video platforms, which have been booming in recent years with the appearance of countless web influencers and starlets.

In June, police from Zhengzhou (Center) arrested a married couple who had broadcast their lovemaking live and video, the man interpreting the fictitious role of a VTC driver and his wife that of a passenger.
