It is a meeting eagerly awaited by the social partners. Unions and employers are waiting to be fixed on the contours of the new long-term partial unemployment scheme set up for companies hard hit by the coronavirus. It must enter into force on July 1 and will be the subject of a company or branch agreement in exchange for compensation for maintaining employment.

The social partners are also awaiting announcements concerning the unemployment insurance reform, the first part of which entered into force last November. If the unions ask for its outright abandonment, the government is considering adapting the new rules to soften its effects by taking into account the social crisis due to the Covid-19.

Vocational training, youth employment and posted work should also be discussed during this meeting with Emmanuel Macron. These three subjects were the subject of talks during the consultations which began on June 8 at the Ministry of Labor.

These consultations were requested by Emmanuel Macron during a previous meeting with the number one unions and employers, June 4. The meeting must be held between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Since the beginning of this quinquennium, we have not had much to expect in return for everything that we have proposed to the government, so we ended up getting used to whatever we say, the machine is running anyway without asking us too much for our opinion.
