The Syrian army announced on Tuesday that two soldiers were killed and four wounded in an "Israeli attack" on a military site on the outskirts of As-Suwayda, south of the country.

Syrian television said that the Syrian air defenses intercepted Israeli raids in the airspace near the city of As-Suwayda and in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor on the borders of Iraq.

Israel has launched dozens of strikes in the past few months on what are suspected Iranian targets spread across Syria, and has recognized responsibility for many of them since the beginning of the Syrian revolution in 2011, as Tel Aviv considers the Iranian presence a strategic threat to it.

Israeli officials have said in the past few weeks that Israel will intensify its campaign against the Iranian presence in Syria, as Tehran has expanded its presence with the help of its armed groups.
