The decision, signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, is published on the Internet portal of legal information.

“To approve the proposal to denounce the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the conditions of transfer and on the procedure for further use of the Kazakhstan node Balkhash,” the document says.

Later, the corresponding draft law was submitted to the State Duma, it follows from the database of the lower house of parliament.

According to RIA Novosti, the Balkhash site includes the Dnepr radar station, which is used as part of Russian missile attack warning and space control systems.

To date, Russia has commissioned a new Voronezh-M radar station near Orsk, which replaced the station in Kazakhstan.
